Kokam lithium ion

We have chosen Kokam as supplier of the Lithium Ion battery solution for our Gamatronic UPSes.

Lithium Ion has interesting properties:

  • Combined with Gamatronic Centric and Premium+ UPSs, we deliver the market’s smallest footprint (40% reduction)
  • In the context of UPS, the solutions will have a much longer life and lower service needs than traditional battery solutions (capacity approx. 83% after 20+ years)
  • Lithium Ion is very flexible in terms of temperature, works well in the range of 15-25 degrees Celsius
  • Lithium Ion does not emit any hydrogen gas, which eliminates the need for special ventilation measures
  • Depending on the design, the solutions will take up much less space and be much faster to install
  • The solution is modular and scalable at rack level as shown (W1170mm x D592mm x H2050mm) with a weight per solution of 1400kg
  • The solution includes detection and potassium-based fire suppression internal to the racket
  • The solutions include the Battery Management System (BMS) internal to the rack
  • The solutions also include ventilation fans
  • In terms of health and safety, the chosen rack format has many advantages
  • Better TCO if you take lifetime into account, approx. 20% gain
